The First Family reported $2.7 million in 2008, and while that is a Whaler full of cash, I want to know if the 6.5% they donated is a solid standard?
Personally, I think it is pretty fair, and if we all donated that amount (In 2007, the median annual household income rose 1.3% to $50,233.00 according to the Census Bureau.; meaning roughly $3,265 for the Average Joe the Plumber ), it would seem like quite a bit. So, sterling work done by the First Family. Sen. Biden, on the other palm, .7%? For real? That is a few bottles of Ernie's best (http://www.ernieelswines.com/default.asp?pageID=782075285) and the Mechanic's finest (http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2008/11/13/golfballs_460x276.jpg).
What is a fair percentage for all of us to strive towards? 1%? 2.5%? 5%? Is 6.5% feasible for all of us? Discuss...........
